Tips for Charlotte NC Home Buyers–Keep a Journal and Set Goals
Buying a home can be an exciting time but, also can be a bit stressful if you’re unsure of the ‘next steps.‘ I recommend keeping a log of the entire buying process, including your buying objectives, home-tour dates, notes on each of the top 3 homes that you toured, including your pros and cons. Note-taking during the Offer process, the inspection/repair expenses, notes on contractors hired, agent, inspector, lender and attorney communication. You’ll even want to document neighborhood observations, everything that the buying process entails.
Keep a journal of your buying experience. This will give you a clearer picture of what you’ve done, where you’ve been (the homes, neighborhoods and schools that you’ve toured), what you’re working on presently and what your ‘next step’ will be.
What do you hope to have completed by the end of the first month? What tasks do you hope to have accomplished two weeks prior to Closing? Studies have shown that goals are more likely to become reality if you write them than if you don’t. Creating a timeline for your purchase is imperative during the process and stating your goals and the expected time of completion for each of them makes for a smooth home purchase!
